Symptoms

Infestation appears as cotton like masses on leaves, stem and fruits. Adults and immature stages suck sap from these parts.
Leaves become crinckled, yellowish and wither. Honey dew excreated by the insect causes soothy mould formation on the plant parts. (C.0: Paracoccus marginatus).

Management

Release natural enemies Acerophagus papayae, Anagyrus loecki. Spray neem garlic emulsion (20 ml neem oil + 20 gram garlic paste + 5 gram bar soap/litre of water). Hang yellow sticky (castor oil coated) traps @ 20 no/ha. Spray Lecanicillium lecanii (synonym Verticillium lecanii) (20 gram/litre of water).
