Symptoms

Disease regularly occurs in dry season. Light yellow colored spots appear on the pod surface which later turn to dark brown or chocolate brown. Generally disease starts at stalk end of the fruit which spreads to the pod tip. In most of the cases, entire pod surface turns to charcoal black color and covered with black fungal spores. Infected pods change in shape and adhere to the plant. Disease also occurs on twigs. This pod rot generally occurs on less managed and plants under stress.

Management

Proper cultural practices need to be taken care followed by spraying of 1% Bordeaux mixture.
